Where to Party in Ibiza: Playa d'en Bossa vs San Antonio vs Ibiza Town
Ibiza is a small island, but its nightlife is split into a few clear areas, and where you sleep decides how easy your nights are. A night bus that drops you at the door is a very different end to the night from a 45-minute taxi queue at 5am. Here is what's where, how the areas connect and which one suits which kind of trip.
The map at a glance
| Area | Clubs and venues | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Playa d'en Bossa | Hï, Ushuaïa, SWAG, Playa Soleil; DC10 just off the road to Las Salinas | Big names day and night, walking between clubs |
| San Antonio | Eden, Es Paradis, O Beach, Ibiza Rocks, Café Mambo, Sundara; Pikes and 528 on the outskirts | Sunsets, pool parties, smaller budgets |
| Ibiza Town and marina | Pacha, Chinois, LÃo; Destino Five at Talamanca | Dinner first, glamour, the old town |
| San Rafael (centre) | [UNVRS], Amnesia | The biggest rooms and techno; you get there, you don't stay there |
| North (San Carlos) | Akasha at Las Dalias | Deep house and the off-season |
Playa d'en Bossa: the superclub strip
The long beach south of Ibiza Town is where the two Ibiza clubs that placed right behind [UNVRS] in DJ Mag's 2026 poll sit side by side: Ushuaïa, the open-air club built into a hotel, whose events mostly run from 17:00 to 23:00, and Hï, the former Space, which takes over at night. They share a Discobus stop. DC10 is a short ride away on the road to Las Salinas, at the end of the airport runway, and SWAG (hip-hop and R&B, next to Hotel Garbi) and Playa Soleil (a beach restaurant that turns into a club on selected nights) complete the area. Stay here if your trip is built around headliners: you can do Ushuaïa and then Hï on foot.

San Antonio: sunsets, pool parties and two classic clubs
The west coast town is where a lot of first trips start. Café Mambo on the sunset strip is a bar rather than a club, with free entry and DJs after sunset. O Beach and Ibiza Rocks run the daytime pool parties. At night, Eden and Es Paradis sit next to each other on Carrer Salvador Espriu: Eden for the big sound system and newer DJs, Es Paradis for the glass pyramid and the Fiesta del Agua. Sundara is a small club in a hotel basement on the bay, Pikes is on the outskirts, and 528 holds open-air parties in the Benimussa hills. San Antonio is generally the cheaper base, but most superclubs are a bus or taxi ride away.

Ibiza Town and the marina: dinner, then dancing
Ibiza Town is the island's capital, with the old town of Dalt Vila above the port. Pacha has been here since 1973 and runs 23:00 to 06:00. Chinois, the 1920s-Shanghai boutique club, is in the Ibiza Marina, a street away from Pacha according to Ibiza Spotlight, and LÃo, the cabaret dinner show that becomes a club, overlooks the same marina. Across the bay at Talamanca, the Destino Five resort hosts poolside parties and runs a free shuttle to Pacha. It's the area for people who want restaurants, a dressier night and a short ride home.

San Rafael: the two giants in the middle
Halfway between Ibiza Town and San Antonio, the village of San Rafael has [UNVRS] (the old Privilege) and Amnesia. Nobody stays here for the nightlife: it is where you go. That's what the transport is for. In 2026 the Discobus D1 between San Antonio and Ibiza port stopped at both, and [UNVRS] ran its own free shuttle for ticket holders from San Antonio bus station and Playa d'en Bossa.

The rest of the island: Sant Josep and the north
A few of the best spots sit outside the main areas. Cova Santa, in Sant Josep, is a restaurant and club space run by the Amnesia team, with an open-air dancefloor. 528 is up in the Benimussa hills near San Antonio, among the pines. And in the north, near San Carlos, Akasha is the boutique club inside Las Dalias, the island's main winter venue. None of them is on a direct Discobus route in our sources, so plan a taxi both ways.

Getting between areas
| Option | What it costs / how it works (2026) |
|---|---|
| Discobus D1 | San Antonio to Ibiza port, stopping at [UNVRS], Amnesia and Pacha |
| Discobus D2 (new in 2026) | Loop from Playa d'en Bossa into Ibiza Town and on to Pacha |
| Discobus D3 | San Antonio to Playa d'en Bossa, stopping at DC10 and Ushuaïa/Hï |
| Discobus fare | About €4–5 one way; full service end of May to end of September |
| [UNVRS] shuttle | Free one way with that night's ticket, every 30 min from 22:45 |
| Pacha shuttle | Free return from San Antonio's Egg roundabout with a ticket |
| Taxi (new rates, Sept 2026) | €4.35 flag fall + €1.32/km day or €1.60/km night; €2.15 port/airport supplement |
Two warnings. The new taxi rates were published on 29 September 2026 but only apply once each meter has been verified, so you may meet both old and new prices for a while. And at closing time the ranks get long: Europenightlife's 2026 guide talks about 30 to 60 minutes of waiting around 4 to 5am, with app-based ride services only patchily available on the island. If you're more than 20 minutes from home, arrange the ride back before you go in. Discobus timetables change every summer, so check the 2027 schedule when it's published.
So where should you stay?
- Headliners and walking home: Playa d'en Bossa.
- Budget, sunsets and pool parties: San Antonio, using the Discobus and shuttles for the big clubs.
- Dinner, Pacha and a dressier crowd: Ibiza Town.
- Going mostly to [UNVRS] and Amnesia: either San Antonio or Ibiza Town, both on the D1 route.
